Item idea thread

Different colored gems=Chaos Emeralds

The Emeralds NEVER give out any of those effects. They only amplify the users inner Chaos abilities. And if all 7 are collected the user can go into a Super Form, but only if they have a powerful inner Chaos. Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, and Silver are prime examples. Tails isn't. He needed the Super Emeralds (which I wish never existed, and I'm glad they don't appear anymore) to turn SUPER, whereas Sonic and Knuckles used them to turn HYPER. Besides, Sonic already uses them for his Super Nuke. It wouldn't make sense to have them as items as well.

And once again, an item that only certain characters can use is a horrible idea. (Referring to the "White Gem".)

Actually GY, those where stupid power-ups in Sonic 2006. Those are the effects they did when you used them, but I don't see them as an item, sorry smartguy.

I wouldn't know. I haven't played '06.

But yeah, they don't sound like good items...

An Oil Can would be just an old-fashioned tin oil can, but with a Nuke bros. logo on it. It'd look something like this:

It's a shooting item, but unlike others shooting items, it's projectile (viz. a black drop of oil) goes slightly upwards but then arcs until it goes straight down.
The oil drop, if it hits the ground, causes a very low traction oil slick; It doesn't cause slipping like banana peels, though. The more oil that's added to the slick, the bigger said slick gets.
However, if it hits an unweary fighter, he'll get the effects of low-traction wherever he walks! (He also gets tinted black.) The effect lasts as long as Lightning's shrinking effect.

I like it. And that image of the oil can reminds me of the oil can from the Wizard of Oz.

Actually, I also got it from some silent movies as well; also, since it appears that slipping and Banana Peels won't be in-game anytime soon, why not make an item that just reduces traction in just a small area of the stage? That's why I thought of the Oil Can as an item.

How about the white gem lets you use your Up Special twice?

For Pokéballs, do you mean something like...
Regular Pokéballs have more common Pokémon, and Great balls have rarer Pokémon appear, etc, all the way up to Master Ball?

I also always wondered why they never implemented shiny Pokemon into a Smash Brothers game. I mean, there's no real point, but it'd just be cool to be able to see a shiny Pokemon pop out of a poke-ball here and there. Just mere recolors, but it adds that little bit more depth into the game. And you could take snapshots or whatever and boast about your luck.

That is a good idea...the Shiny versions aren't any different from the regular versions, but they are used for bragging rights, because they're even rarer.

Major bragging rights for a Shiny Mew.

How about the Red Gyrados from Gold/Silver/Crystal? It could use Dragon Rage?

The red Gyrados is the shiny version of the normal Gyrados, yes. I was thinking with Magikarp, if you hit him enough, he'll evolve into Gyrados and kick ass.

Evoker from Persona 3, perhaps?

The Evoker could possibly play as an assist-trophy-like weapon, only with summoning Persona.

How the Evoker is used:
The Evoker looks almost exactly like a gun. When you point it up to your head and pull the trigger, it breaks your outer shield and summons a Persona.

Nyaaaaan, it does look rather suicidal, though.

Yeah, the suicidal appearance factor seems a bit too "dark" for such a cartoony looking game. O.o Said item would be way out of place when you consider all the other bubbly items in the game.

*Mario picks up a hammer, comically runs around stage swinging like a lunatic, before finding a gun on the ground, lifting it to his head and presumably attempting to commit suicide* "IT'S-A TOO MUCH"
