Now, I don't know much about Takamaru, but he is from a Japan only Nintendo game Nazo no Murasamejō, an apparently popular game for the Famicon Disk System. His latest appearance is as a guest character in Toei's Samurai Warriors 3. The reason why I'm talking about him, is because of Brawl's poll:

As you can see ALMOST everyone with a 4 or a 3 was playable. The only exceptions are Ridley, Geno, Krystal, and Takamaru. The ONLY 2 in Brawl is Lucas, because he was supposed to be in Melee. King Dedede being a 5, well, self-explanitory. Music from Takamaru's game was also used for a song on the Mario Bros. stage.
Now, the important part, the moveset. Being that I am unfamiliar with the series, here is a Brawl moveset that someone has made (which can be edited to be Nukeified).

Power: 2/5 Speed: 4/5 Jump: 4/5 Weight: 2/5
Takamaru's build is similar to Marth, but with smaller range and better jump. Takamaru always has two hands on his sword at all times.
A: Downward slash AA: Downward Slash AAA: Upward slash Dash: Upward slash - Almost no ending lag. A very efficient combo move. (ALL FOUR OF THESE ATTACKS RENDER PROJECTILES USELESS, THEY HOWEVER DO NOT REFLECT THEM)
Utilt: Wide Swipe - Similar to Ike's FSmash, but much quicker and weaker. Ftilt: Close Swipe - Slash horizontally in front of him. Dtilt: Diagonal Slash
Fsmash - Double Slash - Slashes twice like Link but doesn't move like Link does. Dsmash - Sword Spin - Spins in a circle with his sword on the ground. Usmash - Upward Stab
Nair - Sword Flip - Spins around vertically with sword extended Fair - Forward Stab - Stabs in front of him. Great aerial finisher; big knockback Dair - Downward Stab - Like Game and Watch's Dair in Melee. Uair - Upward Slash Bair - Back Slash - Acts similar to Falco's Bair as it stays backwards for a bit.
Standard Special: Katana Slash - Takamaru slashes his sword in a manner similar to Ike and Marth; also chargeable and reflects projectiles. Side Special: Shuriken Throw - Takamaru tosses a shuriken. Easily spammed; it takes as much time to throw as Ninja Kirby's shurikens in Kirby Squeak Squad. 25% of the time he throws a fireball, which does more damage. Down Special: Cloak - Acts similarly to Meta Knights Down Special. However, it does not act like a recovery move; you can't move when invisible. After you activate the move, you hold down the button to stay invisible for 4 seconds. Effective way to dodge projectiles but is insufficient for dodging attacks as it has plenty of ending lag. Up Special: Lighting Explosive - Takamaru lets off the item from the games and dashes upwards in a bolt of lightning. Can be controlled like Fox Fire before it launches but also like Extremespeed, during the move.
Final Smash: Thunderstorm Explosive - An enhanced version of his Up Special. Takamaru sets an explosive on the ground. It explodes in huge lightning bolts like PK Starstorm but quicker and deal OHKO's upon contact.
I tried to keep his moveset true to his game. This is one series Nintendo needs to remake."
Also, here is his appearance in Samurai Warriors 3, as it suits Smash Bros.

His moveset here sounds a little bland, but I too expected him in Brawl.

Thanks for the kudos, everyone! (I know none of you said "kudos", but it was one of the only words I could think of that didn't make me sound prideful...) I wonder if Samurai Warriors 3 uses MLD0 models...then Takamaru CAN be added into Brawl!

The models must be in MLD0 format, which is usually only in non-American originating Wii games. (It means the game is either Japan exclusive, or was released in Japan before it was released internationally.) Melee is a Gamecube game, and Trophies don't have any bones anyway. The closest thing to Gooey is to vertex hack Kirby or Jigglypuff, then give them a special moveset hack.

So no. Vaati can't be made this way, as he only appeared as a sprite.
However, people have texture hacked Toon Link to look like Vaati.

Technically it's fine, because I mentioned MLD0 model hacking into SSBB...but we need to discuss Takamaru more.
