This extremely significant US Senatorial investigation into the military's abusive detainee system, originally completed late last year, but declassified yesterday, examines the evolution of the system and its policies. The investigation committee states that it reviewed more than 200,000 pages of related information and interviewed over 70 witnesses. It covers a time period from early 2002 to 2008, and extends and confirms the general thrust of documents previously released by WikiLeaks on the detainee system.
It should be noted that the document covers the military detainee system, as used at sites like Guantanamo (GTMO, Camp Delta and Camp X-ray), Camp Bucca, Bagram and Abu Grahib, and only indirectly examines the CIA detainee system, which also based a number of its techniques on SERE.
