i have ideas for this character:D Sounds cute, but come on.. Goku? Just normal Goku from Dragonball Z? Probably the most fleshed out and epic character in anime/animation history. Massive respect.

The only problem with that, is that DBZ Goku has too much to work with, and more than likely, you'd be bound to leave a lot out. That's why Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was good in representing DBZ Goku, with three different ones (Early, Mid, End). And to top it off, Kid Goku and GT Goku were in as well. EDIT: By the way, Jump Ultimate Stars for the DS in Japan was made by Nintendo, so I think you can use that as an excuse to add Goku. (Or Naruto, Luffy, Ichigo, etc.) Here are the playable characters:

| If you want to represent anime, you'll have to go with either of these characters:
- One of the most characteristic characters for fighting manga/anime is obviously Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star. Pretty much set the standard for fighting manga for years to come. It set the standard for the Dragon Ball series we all know and love.
- Goku, because yeah
- Luffy from One Piece, currently the #1 highest selling shonen manga in history (beating the entirety of series such as Dragon Ball, Fist of the North Star and other popular shonen series)
- Astro Boy. Osamu Tezuka practically created the manga scene with his drawings, Astro Boy standing out as one of his most popular works (and most suitable for a fighting game character).

Ironically, all but Astro are Shonen Jump, and are playable in Jump Ultimate Stars. Of those, I would say Goku.

| Shonen Jump IS the most popular mangazine, so that can't be helped. Not to mention the fact that most shonen is from a fighting genre, so that makes it very easy to fit them into a fighting game. | |

Mario characters were in anime. Pokemon is an anime. (Meowth specifically.) Sonic had an anime. Captain Falcon had one. Legend of Zelda has a manga. Kirby had an anime. Final Fantasy had a CGI anime movie. etc. So what harm would a famous anime character have? Especially if they've been in MANY games. (Goku, Luffy, etc.)

| Let it be known that Astro Boy is fucking awesome.
Omega Factor was a fantastic game too, and it gives him lots of moveset potential.
Not a confirmation though. Dragonball Z eh?? xD

| Heh, it would be awesome to play as Astro Boy in Nuke. As for DBZ, Goku is an obvious first choice. If two (unlikely), Vegeta. If three (extremely unlikely), Piccolo or Frieza. I'm sure it's not going higher than that. | |

If it were all up to me, though, Kenshiro & Astro Boy every day.

Sonic: Super crap. F-Zero: Epic, but quite crap. Zelda: I'm not really talking about comics and my use of the word manga was accidental. Kirby: 'I'm gonna clobba that there Kirbeh' 'nuff said. Final Fantasy: Long and crap. I'm surprised you didn't mention the Fire Emblem anime. Thatw was awful. My main beef isn't the genre but the fact that I have always viewed a Smash game as a video game celebration. One of the few examples of a media looking back on achievements and making a new gameplay experience out of them. With so many great VG characters why are anime characters needed?

| That's true, but technically Jigglypuff was only made a character due to the anime. Pikachu wasn't just from the anime, look back at Pokemon Yellow. But you got a point. I would like to see more video game characters than anime, in fact, between almost all to only all should be in a Smash Game. IF (and that's a big IF) there is an anime dude/dudette, I say Goku. | |

So basically the only one you liked besides the one I already mentioned was the Final Fantasy movie.. Read again. Japanese versions FTW. I'm indifferent about Advent Children. Didn't like it, but didn't dislike it. @SingleMaleNurse OVERRULED! Mario: Agreed. Crap. Pokemon: Applies nowadays, but you can't honestly say that the Kanto-Johto episodes were bad! And the first three movies, which were the best ones. In fact, if it weren't for the anime, Pokemon wouldn't have been as popular in the US as it is. Sonic: Like I said: English bad, Japanese good. Unless of course, you hate Sonic in general, then your opinion is biased. F-Zero: JAPANESE!!! It was cancelled in the US, and the Japanese had the universe destroying Falcon Punch!!!! (Which is a nod to SSB, as if Falcon wasn't a character, the Falcon Punch would not have been in the show.) Zelda: You aren't talking about manga. 'Nuff said. Kirby: English had its moments, but you need to see it's Japanese version to fully appreciate it. Final Fantasy: I'm indifferent about it, but is no where near crap. Crap is Dragon Wars. @DarthDragoon Let me set your facts straight. Yellow was based off the anime, so Pikachu's popularity is not derived from Yellow. Pikachu AND Jigglypuff's popularity is not even from the anime, their placements in the anime came from their popularities of the Japanese public. Back when Pokemon was just out in Japan (no anime, card game, etc. Just Red and Green), Pikachu was most popular Pokemon, and Jigglypuff was the 2nd. THAT'S why they are where they are.

But Kirby had one thing going for it:
METAKNIGHT'S ZORRO ACCENT
